The Awuse of Onigbongbo Oba Oluwasegun Adeyemi- Ajasa has called on the Lagos state government to quickly restrain Oloworo of Oworonshoki, Oba Babatunde Saliu, from installing one Mr. Demola who is discovered not to be a son of the soil and by any right qualified to be installed as Baale of Mende in Onigbongbo community.

Oba Adeyemi Adeyemi- Ajasa, when speaking with newsmen in his palace, stated that the Oloworo does not have any right whatsoever to install a Baale in a community that does not fall under his domain.

He explained that from time immemorial Mende belongs to Onigbongbo, with the documented evidences, noting that the fact that Mende falls under Kosofe LGA after creation of LCDAs, does not mean the change of ownership of the land.

In his statement Oba Ajasa claimed that there was an agreement between the rulling family of Awuse in Onigbongbo and Mende that the Baaleship is coming back to the Awuse ruling house after the last see deceased one.

Quoting the Monarch, Oba Ajasa said he had met with the oloworo oba Saliu about the development and they agreed that he Oba Ajasa should install whoever he wishes which led to the nomination of Alhaji Wasiu Akerele by Oba Ajasa with all documents and proves sent to the Ministry of local government and chieftaincy Affairs, kosofe LGA and other stakeholders.

The Onigbongbo explained further that contrary to the agreement, the Oloworo is about installing one Mr. Demola who does not have any historical link with Onigbongbo that is the ancient community that install baale of Mende.

Consequently, Oba Ajasa appealed to call oba Saliu of Oworonshoki to order by stopping the unlawful installation planned to take place on Saturday March 10, to prevent a conflict between the two communities.
