Waradi Etuk Advocates Tree Planting as Climate Change Agent
In commemoration of this year's world Environmental Day on 6th June, 2024. Waradi Etuk made a commitment to plant trees every month all through the rainy season.
The second phase of the tree planting exercise; Waradi Etuk said the tree planting initiative is to emphasize the need for everyone to be committed in tree planting.
He further stated that trees are the umbrella of the earth, without trees humanity would have gone into extinction with so much heat from global warming, release of green house gases most especially from oxygen through human activities , gas flaring, extraction of crude oil , industrial processing , coal and the use of firewood .
This month tree planting exercise took place along GTBank , Alaba Lawson group of schools and along the bridge leading to Kuto axis.
In attendance were Representatives of the Honourable Commissioner for Forestry Ogun State Mr. Shonubi Adewale James while the Honourable Commissioner for Environment Ogun State represented by Mr Sodipo Oyeneye while Pastor Olugbenga Owolabi of the Living Faith Church Abeokuta was in attendance among many nature lovers
Speaking further the convener said "we all contribute to global warming" so the need for all of us to come together and mitigate the effect of global warming and climate change by planting trees.
Everyone is invited to come on board this initiative , market women , traders, professionals , bankers , civil and public servants , together we can win the war against global warming and climate change.
The convener also used the opportunity to celebrate his birthday which coincides with this month's tree planting day.
