SAGLEV is a real company that assembles electric vehicles (EVs) in Nigeria.

Company Overview: SAGLEV is a US-based company, incorporated in Delaware, with operations in Nigeria. They focus on accelerating the transition from fossil fuel vehicles to zero-emission vehicles in emerging markets.

Assembly Plant: SAGLEV has an assembly plant in Imota, Ikorodu, Lagos State, Nigeria, which is the first automotive assembly plant in sub-Saharan Africa to solely assemble electric vehicles.

Production Plans: The company aims to produce 10,000 electric vehicles per year and has received praise from the National Automotive Design and Development Council (NADDC) for pioneering EV manufacturing in Nigeria.

Electric Vehicle Specifications: SAGLEV's EVs can cover up to 300 km on a single charge, with charging taking around 4 hours using a level 2 charger.

Financing Options: The CEO, Sam Faleye, has stated that some financing companies are eager to provide long-term funding (up to 7 years) for e-hailing drivers willing to operate with EVs.

Charging Infrastructure: SAGLEV has developed charger banks across various parking lots in Lagos, with up to 20 to 100 charging points per location.
