Akwa Ibom has gone into full production mode. 

Governor Pastor Umo Eno on Wednesday threw open the doors of Kaybi Beverage Industries Limited unveiling Kayora Premium Purified Water from a brand-new, ultra-modern plant at 173 U.J. Esuene Way, Eket. The facility stands on the historic grounds of the former Dr. Pepper plant, now reborn for a new generation of manufacturing. 


Declaring the state “open for business,” Gov. Eno said the investment would be protected under his Arise Agenda. He commended CEO Dr. Olukayode Awosika and MD/COO Dr. Ebi Awosika for their confidence in Akwa Ibom, noting that the plant aligns with his drive to open up every local government area for private sector growth and job creation. 

“This is not a coincidence; it is a divine arrangement,” the Governor said. “With the caliber of minds behind this project, I have no doubt Kayora will meet international standards.” 

Kayora is entering the market as a fully certified brand with NAFDAC Reg. No. A1-111026 and SON MANCAP approval. It is produced through an eight-stage process featuring reverse osmosis, UV sterilization, and ozonation, what the company calls “world-class manufacturing brought home to Eket.” 

The brand is launching with four sizes built for everyday life: the 30cl “Sharp-sharp” for events, 50cl “Original” for daily use, 75cl “Jara for fitness and travel, and the 18.9L “Never Finish” for offices, schools, and large homes. 

Local leaders say the impact is already being felt. Eket Council Chairman Hon. Akaniyene Tommey confirmed that the plant has begun lifting families through direct employment, while Paramount Ruler HRM Edidem E.C.D. Abia hailed it as a major upgrade from the old Dr. Pepper era. 


Kaybi Beverage says it is now expanding its distributor network across the South-South and South-East and is inviting partners to “Carry the Standard and Build a Business.”
